1) Goal brainstorming

This is the first step in setting goals.

Find yourself a comfortable chair in a nice quiet room, take a blank piece of paper and some pens.

Choose the area of life you want to start with. If you are not sure or you haven't yet used our 'Rate Your Life Form', this would be a good place for you to start. Click here go there now and then come back here when you have done that.

Now, imagine I am your fairy godmother (hard to imagine I know) and, with a wave of my wand, can grant you anything your heart desires. What would it be?

Have a look at your score on that item when you rated yourself. Now have a think- what would life be like if it was at a 10?

Describe it in as much detail as you can. What are you doing? What is going on around you? Who is with you? What can you see happening? Are there any sounds you need to be aware of? What are you feeling?

Get it all down on paper. You are describing life at a 10 for you. You are NOT comparing yourself with others. This is just for you, how things would be if they were perfect for you.

Take as much time as you need. This is important. Let your imagination run wild. We are not concerned at this stage about how things will be achieved. It's just what if...
